Scientist Boris Rybakin, the doctor of habilitation in physical and mathematical sciences, chief of the laboratory of „Mathematical Modeling” of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, has offered the project aimed at working out the methods and software for calculation the reliability of constructions surfaces, partially submerged in a ground, taking into account liquid oscillation in them.

What problem was an incitement to carry out these researches? After disintegration of the USSR on Moldovan territory there remained many storages of inflammable, poisoning and chemical substances which were kept in special receptacles, a kind of liquid-tight vessels which had been made still in 60th years of last century and have almost consumed the scheduled exploitation resources. These storages and their receptacles as well are located near the large cities and along the western borders of Moldova. During the last 20 years there were no any regulatory actions of control and prevention. Even if the receptacles are still in relatively acceptable state, there is danger of damage or even destroy them after disasters (which can not be projected), transportation, acts of terrorism etc. Also, it should be noted in particular the state of tanks of petroleum products. The destruction of the tanks as a result of seismic influence or a shock wave from an event of explosion in a vicinity of storage can lead to ecological accident.

Such quantity of dangerous objects cannot be updated in fast terms. Therefore it is very important to elaborate methods which will permit verification of durability of storages with dangerous liquids under the influence of operational and force-major loadings. Also it is important to create modern approach based on the advanced computer technologies. In such a way it will be possible to analyze with great precision an operational condition of receptacles with aggressive, poisonous and inflammable liquids.

In this respect Moldovan specialists have proposed a mathematical tools know-how (more specific and more effective in comparison with known methods) and have developed the software to describe the static and dynamic state of constructions with wrapper, filled with liquid. Recently these important perspective researches had obtained financial support from the Scientific and Technological Center of Ukraine: grant will be executed together with scientists from the Institute of applied mechanical engineering (Kharkov) and Scientific Production Association "Iujnoe" (Dnepropetrovsk).

Let's recollect that this spring the Moldavian mathematician Boris Rybakin has been awarded by a prestigious medal «Acad. H.A.Rahmatulin» of the Russian Federation for outstanding merits in scientific researches in the field of mechanics and in particular those related to cosmic matters.
